$60 Grocery Budget Meal Plan
Confession: I dropped the grocery budget habit like a hot potato during the past couple of months.
With the stress of everything going on in the world, the personal stress due to my husband’s uncertain employment situation and just trying to make everything work, I felt like I didn’t have the brain cells available to plan and budget.
BIG mistake!
You know what happens without a plan? You overspend and end up creating more stress because you don’t know what’s for dinner.
So now I’m back on the wagon as they say, and making a weekly meal plan, grocery list and doing my best to stick to the budget.
Speaking of the budget, I’m setting our weekly budget at $60 to feed three adults. (My oldest three children have moved out on their own.)
The Secret to the $60 Grocery Budget
The main way I stick to the budget is by purchasing lower priced and sale items in multiples so I have a constant stockpile to work from. Each week I’m purchasing a some items for the current week, and many items for upcoming weeks.

Here’s the receipt for this week.
And here’s what I purchased.
Please Note: Some items pictured above are for our food storage for future use so you won’t see them in the meal plan this week:
- canned corn
- linguine
- stevia
- grape jelly
- onion soup mix
The pizza pictured is for my husband to take to work for lunch.
Weekly Total: $69.46
August Monthly Total: $133.45
