Learn how to make a monthly vision board and take a peek into mine for this month!
Time to make a monthly vision board if you haven’t yet!
Vision boards help us to visualize where we want to go so we can actually accomplish our goals. Making a vision board at the start of the month works miraculously because you’re focusing on a small amount of time so you’re more likely to take specific action to move yourself forward on your most important tasks.
Here’s my monthly vision board for February:
I use the Joyful Life Planner, but you can also organize with a bullet journal or create your vision board on piece of paper.
This month I decided to cover the monthly calendar on the left side and incorporate it into my vision board. I used Happy Planner Stickers, my own artwork, as well as Scotch Brand and Recollections washi tape.
HOW TO MAKE A MONTHLY VISION BOARD
To make an effective monthly vision board, include these three steps:
Celebrate
The first step to make a monthly vision board is to review the past month and make note of all the blessings and accomplishments in your life. Once I make my list, I take a moment to feel gratitude for all of the goodness in my life.
This month I’m celebrating some fun hangouts with family, making progress on simplifying my life and finally scheduling part of our master bath renovation in our fixer upper. (I’ll update you on the before and after.)
Vision and Focus
Next it’s time to imagine and envision what you want to happen in the upcoming month. This is a powerful step because it enables you to narrow your focus and choose what’s really most important for the next few weeks.
As I mentioned, I incorporated the calendar page in the Joyful Life Planner into my vision board for this month. I glued down a gelli print I had made previously as a background, then added two photos I had cut from magazines that represent how I want this month to look and feel.
My goal for this month is radical self-care which includes continuing to simplify my home (join my Love Your Space Challenge HERE) and business, as well as taking very good care of myself physically, emotionally and mentally.
Must-Do’s This Month
This next step is key to making your monthly vision board work for you. Once you know where you want to focus, it’s time to convert that vision and focus into actionable steps you can take throughout the month.
I try to limit my action steps to just a couple in each category to ensure that I can actually accomplish them.
If you haven’t tried creating a monthly vision board, I encourage you to start this month. You will be amazed at how it helps you to focus on what truly matters most to you.
If you want a planning system that incorporates the monthly vision board, try the Joyful Life Playbook/Planner.
It’s the system I’ve used for the past five years to create a life I love.
