Yay! It’s October, my favorite time of the year and the perfect time to look ahead to this last quarter and make it awesome. Today I’m sharing my goals for October and a new Challenge.
Vision Board
On my monthly bullet journal vision board (see more bullet journal spreads and tips HERE), my word for this month is “focus“. I’m so easily distracted and I tend to try to accomplish too many tasks at once, so I’m going to counteract that tendency by focusing on one small goal in a several areas of my life.
I’m hoping that by narrowing my focus, I will easily be able to reach my goals this month.
My Goals
I’ve chosen three areas and three simple goals for this month so that I can focus my energy on accomplishing them.
Personal
Eat gluten free and low carb all month.
Financial
Save $500 for Christmas.
Business
Finish 2018 Joyful Life Planners and bonus package.

My focus for this month has been to remember to take my blood pressure medicine as ordered, which is twice a day. (Many times I forget the second dose!) So far, I have remembered to do this as I should.
That IS important! Glad you could stay on top of it.
I know it’s late in the month but my goals this month were to eat low carb(keto) and lose the first 10% of my body weight for health reasons, write out a budget and reduce grocery costs, and make a plan to pay off my credit card. Within a few days I’ll be setting my November goals. Very excited to have stumbled across your blog.
Hey Lilly! Fantastic goals for the month. Thanks for joining us. 🙂
My goal is to get healthier.
That’s a goal we can all get behind. 🙂
My goal is to prepare meals for my family and get 25 meals in the freezer for the upcoming weeks leading up to the holiday.
Awesome goal Ellen!
My October goal is to pack away my summer clothes and replace them with my winter clothes. I’ve started this chore, and yes, it is a chore, but I can’t seem to complete the goal. I’m determined I will finish by the end of October!!
You can do it Kim! ?
My goal of losing weight started this week. I’ve had so much stress this past year that I gained all of the weight I lost prior to the stress.
I’m cheering you on Terry!
My goals this month is to limit my diet “cheat days” back to 1 afternoon/evening a week. I also am taking steps towards self improvement by decluttering and my October focus is my closet and craft area.
Great goals Sarah!
My goal is to lose the weight I gained after I quit smoking. Sour far I have lost 23 pounds eating low carb. I have about 40 pounds more to go to get back to my original weight but I’m determined that I will.
Wow! Good for you Sarah! I know that giving up smoking is super difficult. If you can do that, you can definitely lose the weight. Way to go!
My #1 goal for October is to get these boxes out of my bedroom! We have lived here for 7 years, and these boxes (of stuff we need) have been lining an entire wall of my bedroom! I want them gone….and I will have to do it by myself….. I know I can do it! My #2 goal for October is to get baskets for all the papers that have built up on my desk. Just stuff that gets tossed on my desk “for later”, yeah, that stuff. It’s gotta go somewhere neat “until later”.
Yes! You CAN do it Diane! I’m cheering you on. 🙂
My goal is to give up my bedtime bowl of ice cream ritual.
Oh man Velda! The struggle is REAL. I love ice cream. 🙂
My October goals are to continue to drink lots of water and keep exercising. I hope to stay away from Candy Corn and Pumkins!! They keep calling my name ?
That is a problem I don’t have Carol. I’m not a fan of candy corn — haha!
I recently wrote down several goals in my journal for October thru December. Some of the ones I have specifically for October are:
1. Create and maintain a daily writing ritual.
2. Read 10 books I have stored on my Kindle between now and the 31st.
3. Spend no more than 15 minutes on housework every day.
4. Develop a “brain dump” habit at bedtime and whenever I need to clear my head.
5. Do deep breathing meditation 5 minutes a day.
Good luck to everyone! 🙂
Awesome job writing down your goals Mary!
I am just like you with the focusing! I get so distracted by everything that needs to be done I have a hard time completely fishing anything! My goals for this month are to eat the food in our pantry and freezer (and only buy essentials) and completely clean out our bedroom (yes closet, dressers, and all).
We focus-challenged girls just have to unite Melissa! 🙂 Thanks for joining me.
For this month of October, I wish to clear out our “Project Room!” Since we homeschooled our children, that is a big task!
You can do it Heidi!
My goals for October are a few things.
1. Survive my 21st birthday lol 🙂
2. Prepare for my boyfriend shipping out in February for marine bmt, he was supposed to go later this month but when they went to assign him his job there were none available.
3. Pass all my college classes
4. Prepare for next year of possibly being engaged to my high school sweetheart.
5. Celebrate Halloween!!

Let’s see if I survive my 21st, it’s today!!
Happy Birthday Gabby!
I am working on clean eating again, and exercising daily.
Great! Thanks for joining us Sonja. 🙂
My October focus is to have a weekly Sabbath rest day and to spend more intentional time with my daughter. I need to meet some personal and family needs before I can give more focus to other areas in my life.
Really fantastic goals Nancy!
I have a few small goals I want to focus on, first, keeping up with a daily yoga routine, because if I don’t it, I just don’t feel as good. Second, keep Halloween spending under $100.00, which will be a challenge with 4 kids, but I’m going to try! And 3rd, purge clothes and toys the kids don’t want or use anymore, so we can make room for the new things they will be getting this Christmas.
Great goals Laurie. Thanks for joining us!
My October goal is to try relaxing with my family more often. Between work, the kids’ school activities and sports it’s constantly crazy. I don’t want anyone getting burned out!!
That is a fantastic goal Kim!
My goal is to stop procrastinating about dr visits. 🙁
That sounds smart Gigi. 🙂
Goal this month- Start with walking a couple of times a week! Hope this leads to running!!
Love that you’re starting slow Camille!
My October goals –
1. Read my Bible daily.
2. Eat out (way) less.
3. Get more exercise.
I could do more, but if I can accomplish these, that will be a good start!
Yes! You’re so smart to start with only a few goals Rhonda.
Get my home office decluttered and organized.
You know I love decluttering. You can do this Michelle!
This months goal is to get through nursing school this quarter. Phew!
xoxo
You can do it Heather!
My goal is to cut out all sugar.
Great goal! I have trouble with that too, but I’ve been 7 days without it now. 🙂
My focus this month is to get my spending under control. I usually do pretty well but lately I see something and think “I need that” and I buy it. I need to get back to saving instead of buying expensive lotions, a new purse, more shoes. What I really need is to pay cash for a new HVAC system.
I struggle with this so much Susan! I have to be really determined not to spend or I get to the end of the month and realize I’ve spent a hundred dollars or more on non-necessities. I’m really focusing with you on this goal.
Hi,
I want to finish my 2 pending projects regarding my profession by working a little each day.
I don’t live in US,so I can’t participate in contest but I m with u in this October challenge.
Thanks for joining us! I love your plan to work a little each day. 🙂
My October goals are:
1) Have 10 freezer meals stocked specifically for after my baby is born next month
2) Catch up on laundry and get all the baby clothes washed AND sorted by size/season all the way through 12 months
3)Stay focused and on top of all my responsibilities/kids activities by keeping a detailed planner and meal plan going all month long
Whew!
Yes to the freezer meals! That will be so helpful for you Angela.
And congratulations on your new little blessing! 🙂

Thank you for your encouragement Kimberlee!!

My goal is to finally start my plan to get rid of my debt and work
serious towards paying off the debt.
Excellent plan Kathy! I believe in you!
My goal is to clock 120 hours of language learning this month and in doing so see some progress in my comprehension and speaking by November. I don’t currently live in the US, but if I can still enter I have someone in the US I can have the giveaway mailed to.
Thanks for joining us. And yes, as long as I have a U.S. address to mail the package to, you can enter the giveaway. 🙂
My goals this month are:

Spiritual – find a devotional I want to read and then read it every day (the ones I have now just don’t get me excited to read it – open to any suggestions!)
Family – have a date night with my husband and also spend a day doing something fun with our daughter as a family (zoo, riding horses, etc.)
Personal – begin a workout routine again.
Financial – pay off CC’s
Great goals Christy! As far as a devotional, I enjoyed “My Utmost for His Highest” by Oswald Chambers. It was published in 1935, but really encouraging and challenging. I have also heard that “Jesus Calling” is good. Maybe others can chime in here.
Thank you, Kimberlee! I will look into those! 🙂 Happy Saturday!
I would like to put a meal plan in place. To help me eat healthier and spend less.
Yes! A meal plan is a definite money saver!
My goal is to pay off one loan this month. Expecting a bonus, saving a little, and budgeting should make it possible. I just need to focus!
Yes! You can do it Laura!
My goal for October is to clean and declutter my garage. I want a big open space, organized materials, and no cobwebs. I have been working on it a little each day. I have also arranged for a local charity to pick up two large pieces of furniture and some small items early next week. Some people are adding cobwebs to their decor in October. I am getting rid of them.
Ha! Brilliant Paula! I love that you are working on it a little bit each day. Great job!
October goal: clear out some house and yard clutter before winter.
Fantastic Shelly! I always love clearing out the clutter. 🙂
My goal is to eat healthier and also to take care of tasks without procrastinating.
Great plan Heather! Procrastination is a problem for me too at times.
My goal for October is one that generally only applies to October. We always buy our Halloween candy early, and my goal is always to not eat all of it before Halloween!!
Ha! Love it!
I’m going to commit to a daily self-care action. I’m not good at consistency so it may be an early night , a walk after dinner, a soak in the tub with a good book or anything else that feeds my soul. Today I’m off to breakfast with a friend.
Great goal! Hope you had a fun breakfast date. 🙂
My three main goals for October:
1. Enjoy the rest of the fall feasts. We just started Sukkot/Tabernacles and it last for 8 days!
2. Resume homeschooling. We’ve been on a bit of an extended break preparing for the fall feasts as well as taking time off for the feasts themselves.
3. Begin preparing for Hanukkah, which starts December 11.
Sounds like lots of fun!
Declutter my house!
Awesome goal Amanda!
My goal this month is to reduce my dependency on carbs. Clean out the garden beds and mulch for the winter.
I hear you Cathy! I love carbs so much — LOL!
My husband and I made a goal this month to record all of our spending to keep ourselves accountable for spending wisely 🙂 We have been a little too loose on the reins the last 3 months and need to get back into the habit of keeping our spending plan.
That is a fantastic goal Suzanne! Way to take control of your spending!
My goal is to make daily decluttering a habit this month. I have your decluttering posts so i have no excuse! (-:
You can do it Elaine!
My goal is to drink water!! Lots of water to stay hydrated and keep headaches away. Also keeps me full so I don’t snack and generally makes me feel better.
Yes! Super healthy goal Jessica.
My goal is to organize my storage room so that I can walk into the room! I have empty shelves, and empty storage totes, but everything “where I can see it.” I want to use one shelf for the Christmas presents I already have. Basically, I should start with a step by step list.
That sounds like a great plan Karla. You can do it!
Into a 6 month kitchen remodel, my big focus is to finish up the minor projects!
Wow! That sounds fun and crazy Tina.
My goal is to make better choices with food and get my confidence back.

Awesome! You can do it Sadie!
To eat more salads. I did well over the summer but not so good in September & I can tell I’m not feeling as well again.
It’s hard to think about salad when the weather starts to get cooler, but I’m trying to eat a salad every day too.
My October goal is to exercise in some way everyday.
Awesome Christina!

Fall=raking, right Lisa?
I turn 42 this month. Today starts cutting all soda and sugary drinks/ foods for 30 days. That’s my big goal. I’m an admitted sugar addict, it will be tough, but, when I saw this post I knew I picked the right time to start. I look forward to the tips and support!
