I’ll let you in on a little secret…
my life doesn’t always work out as planned.
Okay, so you probably knew that but I needed to say it out loud.
I love planning and setting goals but it’s easy to become discouraged when those plans don’t work out, and that happens on a very regular basis.
- schedules are changed at the last minute;
- unexpected expenses come up;
- my family needs me when I had planned to work;
- life…
But I’m not giving up because I have HOPE.
“Hope is that thing with feathers that perches in your soul
and sings the song without the words
and never stops … at all.”
— Emily Dickenson
So I will continue to listen to that hope song in my heart, continue to move even if it seems that I am only crawling along.
I will continue to persevere.
And I encourage you to do the same.

I love how you included personal goals. Too often we fail to fuel ourselves emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Thanks Jennifer! I’ve learned the hard way that I have to take care of myself or I can’t do a good job caring for those around me. 🙂
Be still and know that I am God.
I stop and remember that Bible verse and it helps me to put things in perspective.
I am grateful, too, for your words of encouragement. Your website is a blessing:)
Know that you and your family are in our prayers!
Thanks so much for that reminder Marge, and for your encouragement. Such a great verse!
We sincerely appreciate your prayers.
Kimberlee…about 5 years ago I impulsively bought a little plant stake that has a cut out bird and the word HOPE on it. My youngest son tried to talk me out of buying it, but I HAD to have it!!! I’m so glad I got it because it is a daily inspiration to me for the same reason you wrote about today….it helps keep me going! Today’s quote fits it perfectly!!!
Funny how the tiniest things can be so inspirational. Glad you have a visual reminder to hope Diane!
P.s. I may even just craft a chalkboard for my dining room with this quote so that I am inspired each and every day❤️
I know some days you probabley wonder if anyone is listening to you. You spoke words that I so needed to hear…in the last 3 months we’ve had one crisis after another and the straw that broke the camels back was an unexpected layoff for my husband and I was feeling defeated and emotionally exhausted and needed a jumpstart…thank you for your words…it was just what I needed to push forward and start climbing out of this mess and begin putting the pieces back together. Thank You from the bottom of my refueled heart❤️
I am so sorry that you are going through such a difficult time Julie, but so glad that I could encourage you a little bit. Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know!
I pray that God will encourage you, strengthen you, provide for you and give you even more hope!
