To keep costs low for the gluten free items we shop sales, buy GF products from Aldi and order items from Vitacost (click here to grab a FREE $10 credit!).
This week I stopped at Publix for some organic items like Organic Valley Grassmilk Yogurt and Applegate Farms Smoked Turkey. I spend $11.38.
I spent $114.79 at Aldi including:
- Gluten Free Products: GF loaf bread ($3.99), GF wraps ($3.99), GF cereal ($3.49).
- Produce: Fuji apples ($1.49/3 lbs.), California navel oranges ($3.29/4 lbs.), cucumbers ($.55 ea.), green peppers ($.55 ea.), blueberries ($1.89/ pint), romaine lettuce ($1.99/3 heads), garden salad ($.69/16 oz. bag), bananas ($.44/lb.)
- Meat: ground beef $2.79/lb., boneless skinless chicken breasts ($2.29/lb.), boneless skinless chicken thighs ($2.09/lb.), carne picada ($3.79/lb.)
- Dairy: half gallon milk ($1.99), shredded cheese ($2.79/12 oz. package), sliced cheese ($1.99/10 slices), butter ($2.99/1 lb. pkg.), eggs ($1.49/dozen), sour cream ($1.19/16 oz. container)
- Other: tortilla chips, corn chips, bagels, apricot marmalade, salsa, organic pasta sauce, frozen veggies, natural peanut butter
Weekly Total: $126.17

Gluten Free Banana Pecan Muffins
Fried Eggs with Spinach, orange slices
Organic Yogurt with Crockpot Granola and fresh fruit
Oatmeal* (GF oats) with cinnamon and raisins
Homemade Freezer Waffles with DIY Waffle Syrup
Cheese Toast, banana
Cereal with milk
LUNCH
Turkey Avocado Wrap, cucumber slices
Salad with Italian Chicken
Hummus*, tortilla chips
Rice Cakes* with peanut butter and banana slices
Turkey Sandwich, green pepper slices, ranch dressing* x2
Tortilla chips with melted cheese, sour cream, sliced tomatoes*
DINNER
Sweet & Spicy Slow Cooker Chinese Chicken, rice, stir fried vegetables
Taco Bowls (Beantastic Taco Meat, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and salsa served on corn chips)
BBQ Chicken Nachos (substituting BBQ pork from the freezer), Tomato Cucumber Salad
Baked Potatoes with bacon (from Zaycon Foods)*, steamed broccoli and cheese, salad
BBQ Pepper Jack Bacon Burgers, Home Fried Potatoes
Grilled Ham and Swiss Sandwiches, Tropical Fruit Salad
Delicious Steak Fajitas (with carne picada), steamed corn kernels

Actually I have seen it but forgot about it…….will try to remember the next time 🙂 although I was very short on time today so just bagged it all up in freezer ziplocks.
