This week I needed to return to Walmart to grab a non-food item that I left off of my list last week so to save time I also purchased my groceries there.
Walmart Produce
I was happy to find good prices on avocados and red potatoes. I splurged on the bagged salad because I knew that we had a busy week. [UPDATE: I just heard that the Marketside Bagged Salad is part of the regional recall of bagged salads due to an outbreak of Listeria. Read more here.]
When you need to save money chicken leg quarters are a super cheap meat option. I sprinkle them with Lawry’s seasoning salt, pour a bottle of our favorite BBQ sauce on top and bake them for an hour at 375 degrees. This week I will use the leftover chicken in my Ranch Chicken Casserole (recipe below).
Walmart Pantry Items
I thankfully was able to stick more closely to the budget this week than I did last week. Making a list REALLY makes the difference!
Weekly Total: $104.18
January Monthly Total: $382.17
