I have not been posting menus and groceries since my daughter’s accident because we have thankfully had meals provided by friends and we have not had much organized grocery shopping but this week I made a menu and grocery list, made it to the store and remembered to photograph everything for you. Miracles do happen — haha!
Aldi Produce and Meat
As usual, I was happy with the produce available this week including a pint of grape tomatoes for $1,79, bananas for 44 cents a pound, cucumbers for 55 cents each and fresh broccoli for $1.79.
Aldi Refrigerated and Frozen Items
Pretty much the usual here. I have a second bag of fries in the freezer from a previous week so I only needed to buy one bag.
Aldi Meat & Grocery Items
We also have a couple of boxes of cereal in the pantry so I only purchased one. I “splurged” on canned beans for our chili this week rather than taking the time to cook dry beans.
Weekly Total: $131.04
Monthly Total: $131.04
($125/week budget for six people so I am over budget for this week.)

I like Aldi’s for some stuff. But, I have found a lot of their meat to actually be more expensive than our local meat shop. I do buy my rice and beans there and most of my canned foods. The bad thing for us is that the closest one is 35 minutes away so I only get to go once a month. I am hoping that I can go at least every other week come first of the year since gas prices have come down some.
I have noticed that the meat prices are higher as well Becky but the local store that has lower prices is several miles out of my way so I don’t often shop there. When I have more time in my schedule I will start shopping there again.
