What’s on your Christmas list this year?
I am certain that you can think of at least one item that you want this Christmas — I know I have a few on my list and my kids have at least a dozen!
It’s easy to think about what we want for Christmas but part of the joy of the season is being able to give to others who are in need. There are lots of opportunities to give such as helping at a local homeless shelter, visiting a nursing home or donating to a food pantry or charity but sometimes we like our giving to be more personal.
Do you have a family member or friend with a goal they want to reach?
Do you have a neighbor in need?
Could your community be helped in some way?
My Wish For Others this Christmas is for the single moms in my community:
I have a real heart for families who are struggling financially over the holidays and especially single moms. While I haven’t been a single mom I have definitely been in the position of needing help around the holidays. One year we had to visit the food pantry just to have groceries for the kids and another year some wonderful friends brought us a huge bag of gifts when they found out that we didn’t have money for Christmas. Receiving help is humbling and difficult but we were so grateful. Maybe you know someone this holiday season who is struggling.
I normally don’t advertise for credit card companies but I wanted to jump on Capital One’s #WishForOthers campaign because they are making this Christmas season a little bit brighter by making our wishes for others come true. If you have family members, friends or neighbors who have a need this holiday season why not share your wish for them with #WishForOthers on Twitter, Instagram, or the Capital One Facebook page from now through December 23. You could win the chance to make your wish come true for your recipient and possibly change his or her life.
Now is the perfect time to do a little good in someone else’s life and it won’t cost you a thing.
Once you share your wish come back and leave a comment to let me know what it is.
