Aldi Produce
The highlight of my weekly shopping is being able to purchase produce at such low prices. I was super excited to find blueberries on sale again because we only have a few left from the end of June when I purchased three flats of blueberries at 99 cents a pint and froze them. (Read How to Freeze Blueberries here.)
Best Produce Deals:
blueberries $1.69/pint
cucumbers $.55 each
seedless watermelon $2.69
bananas $.44/lb
Haas avocados $.79 each
16 oz. garden salad $.99 (I will mix this with the fresh spinach and romaine which I have at home.)
16 oz. bag spianach leaves $1.79
pint grape tomatoes $1.29
Aldi Meat, Refrigerated & Frozen
Whole chickens were on sale for $.95/lb and the boneless skinless chicken breasts were $1.99/lb. I was also excited to find a 12 pack of Stonyfield yobaby organic yogurt for just $2.89 which is less than half the regular price. Even though it says “baby” on the label the kids like to eat these as a snack.
Aldi Grocery Items
It is much cheaper to cook baked beans from scratch and I am definitely considering it now. We ate these Aldi baked beans last night and they were terrible – not even cooked! I won’t be purchasing them again.
Publix Grocery Items
The bagels, salad dressing and hot dogs were Buy One – Get One Free. I will stick the bagels in the freezer to use over the coming weeks.
Weekly Total: $125.35
September Monthly Total: $125.35
($125/week budget for six people – on budget. Woohoo!)
