$125 Budget Weekly Menu –See how I feed my family of six including 3 teens and a twelve year old for around $125 a week!
This week I saved money by making cheaper meals with foods like beans, rice and potatoes, and by shopping at a discount store (Aldi’s). My total spending for the week is $100.85 and my total spending for the month of November is $195.72, or an average of $97.86 per week!

Please Note: I post my weekly menu to encourage menu planning and to give meal ideas, not as a nutritional standard. You should feed your family based on your priorities and values. You may not be able to replicate this exact menu for $125 because sales vary by region and you will have different items on hand, but you can save money just by using a menu. 🙂)

Kimberlee,
I want to thank you for committing to sharing your knowledge on how to save on groceries. I have 4 children (all in a sport) – 13 y/o step son in basketball (whom we have every other week), 12 1/2 y/o twin sons a swimmer and a soccer player, and 11 y/o daughter who plays soccer (with dairy/lactose intolerant, gluten allergy). In the past couple of months, and of course as our four children go through growth spurts together, our grocery bill sky rocketed. We eat as clean as possible, eat out maybe twice a month, maybe grab 5.00 pizza a couple times a month for a lunch. No pastas unless gluten free and have to have coconut milk on hand for my daughter. On top of that, my husband began triathlons a year ago and he burn up to 7000 calories just in his daily workouts! Our grocery bill became 1200.00 a month! After researching for a couple of weeks I found your site. I spent another couple of weeks watching your weekly shopping trips. Even though we didn’t follow your menu, just following your method to grocery/meal planning has brought us to staying under 200.00 a week the last two shopping trips. That is huge for our family. I see what you are doing as a ministry and I appreciate your service. My husband and I were even beginning to have conflict with one another over the stress of the money being spent on groceries. I am a frugal person and he as always appreciated that, but somehow we were losing control of our budget. I used to coupon and save BIG, but eventually we just could not eat the products that most coupons cover – almost only processed foods.
Again, thank you so much.
