Please Note: I post my weekly menu to encourage menu planning and to give meal ideas, not as a nutritional standard. You should feed your family based on your priorities and values. You may not be able to replicate this exact menu for $125 because sales vary by region and you will have different items on hand, but you can save money just by using a menu. 🙂)

Hi! I spent these last days reading your Save on Money Groceries Series, and now I know why my grocery bill is so high! At first I could not see what’s wrong, but now I know: Breakfast and lunch are fine, dinner is
the problem! I’m spending a lot with fast food for dinner: frozen
pizzas and hamburgers, chips, soda, chocolates (our main meal in Brazil is
lunch, not dinner,as in the U.S.). So, we are eating healthy and not so expensive food in breakfast and lunch, and spending a lot with dinner, since fast food is much more expensive here than healthy food. I’ll stop that, make a menu planning and save money. Thanks again!
Good for you for taking a look at why you were spending more and taking control Sandra! Glad I could help out. 🙂
like to see that I am right on track feeding my family of 5 (3 teens) and our dog for about 100 a week…..that includes household items as well……yea me
Woohoo! 🙂
I love doing pancakes for dinner. IT is so much less stressful to get them prepped and served than doing them for breakfast. And we did the smoothie and popcorn lunch last week. Kids loved it!
I love your menu planning,we have tried many recipes! I made BBQ jack cheese burgers for dinner,so delicious! Please, send me a help. I wrote down all my monthly expenses, and realize every expense is under control, except the grocey one. We have a frugal life, but somehow the grocery bill is still high. I cannot see where the problem is, what I am doing wrong. I cook at home,3 meals, for two people. Could you please send me a suggestion? Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your wise suggestions.
I’ve been experimenting with ways to use leftover oatmeal, so far I’ve used it in oatmeal blueberry bread, oatmeal chocolate chip bread and smoothies. I might have to try those pancakes!
Ooh! You will have to share the blueberry and oatmeal chocolate chip bread recipes with me. Do you have links? 🙂
Not yet, but I’ll probably post it this week.
