Please Note: I post my weekly menu to encourage menu planning and to give meal ideas, not as a nutritional standard. You should feed your family based on your priorities and values. You may not be able to replicate this exact menu for $125 because sales vary by region and you will have different items on hand, but you can save money just by using a menu. 🙂)

I love your menu planning. I’m pregnant and just entered my 2nd trimester, but I’m still having several days of all-day “morning sickness.” My budget has been blown, I haven’t done a menu in a few months, I rarely cook from scratch these days, and buy take-out way too much. I have a family of 4, with pets, and I was couponing and spending $40-$50 per week for everything. Now, I am around $60 a week, not including take-out, training pants, and wipes. My husband looked bewildered when he asked how much groceries cost and saw how few bags I had. I can’t wait to feel better because menu planning and cooking from scratch are HUGE money savers. Right now, it takes all my energy to go to work and take care of the kids.
Oh, you poor thing. I remember those days. I absolutely could not stand to cook when I was pregnant. Give yourself some grace and maybe just plan some really simple meals so you don’t have to spend too much time around food. Things will get better soon and it’s all for a good cause. 🙂
My husband and I have been doing a lot of juicing since January. While it’s super healthy and we’re both losing weight, all the fruits and veggies we buy can be pretty expensive (8 bags of apples, 10 pineapples in a week). It really does help to shop around though. While there aren’t coupons for fruits and veggies I found apples and pineapples for half the price at walmart this week. Saved me $39 just to shop somewhere other than my usual store.
That is awesome Amanda!
