Being organized helps you to live your true priorities!
My favorite way to stay organized is to make a weekly plan to ensure that I am focusing on what is truly most important in my life, rather than just staying busy. After trying many types of planners, my current favorite is to hand write my plan in my art journal.

I divide my plan into five categories:
PERSONAL- habits that keep me healthy and happy
PEOPLE– activities that promote relationship with the people I love
PURPOSE– tasks that enable me to fulfill my purpose in life
PASSION– activities and experiences which enable me to enjoy life
PROJECTS– priority tasks that need to be finished this week
You can see last week’s plan here. We had lots of fun last week seeing Wreck It Ralph at the dollar theater, taking a field trip to a local attraction and enjoying some Valentine’s Day fun with friends.
I am proclaiming this “Back to Basics” Week. (I even made the design of my plan basic this week.) I will be returning to our normal routine, getting our house in tip top shape for an upcoming birthday party we are hosting and focusing on loving my husband and children better.
I’ll be sharing soon about my progress in turning our master bedroom into a haven. After sleeping on a borrowed RV mattress for almost two years, we were very grateful to be able to purchase a new mattress which was delivered at the end of last week. We paid half of what we expected to pay by purchasing a floor model and we still have the same 20 year warranty as if it were new. Getting a good night’s rest is worth every penny we spent!
As a gift to my readers, you can now print your own customizable Weekly Plan! Click here and “like” The Peaceful Mom on Facebook to access the download link.
Click the link and type in your info for the week. Once you are done, right click the form to print and check off each task as you complete it.

Ok, this may have just saved my life. I’m pretty organized but I am currently on maternity leave with my first child – returning to work in a couple of weeks and am trying to make sure that I have things in order (as best as I can). Maternity leave has been great for me because I’ve learned to not stress over work and focus more on what’s important. Your weekly plan form really helps to keep everything in perspective not just the mundane to-dos. Such a great way to remain balanced. I just printed it out – am filling it out and pinning it to my cork/dry erase board which I look at daily. Thank you so much! I really enjoy your blog.
I am so glad that it will work for you Dara! Thanks for letting me know, and congratulations on your baby–that’s awesome!!
An answer to my prayers for an more organized and simplified life, I cannot thank you enough.
Back to the basics, I love it!
Thank you,
Amber
Yeah! Thanks for letting me know Amber. 🙂
Thanks for sharing this! I’m such a very “disorganized” person (oh, it is an understatement) that I often wonder where my time went or do last minute cramming.
I owe you much <3
