Being organized helps you to live your true priorities!
My favorite way to stay organized is to make a weekly plan to ensure that I am focusing on what is truly most important in my life, rather than just staying busy. I have used lots of different planners, but I am currently hand-writing my plan in my art journal each week just because it makes me happy.

I divide my plan into five categories:
PERSONAL- habits that keep me healthy and happy
PEOPLE– activities that promote relationship with the people I love
PURPOSE– tasks that enable me to fulfill my purpose in life
PASSION– activities and experiences which enable me to enjoy life
PROJECTS– priority tasks that need to be finished this week
You can see last week’s plan here. My husband and I were able to enjoy a two day retreat with each other last week and it was so rejuvenating. It’s nice to have unrushed time to just hold hands and talk in a new environment. We realized that it had been 3 years since we had an overnight get away without the children. That is just too long!
Starting today we are celebrating family fun week! We will be taking the kids to see Wreck It Ralph at the dollar theater, taking a field trip to a local attraction and having some Valentine’s Day fun with friends. It’s our midwinter staycation. 🙂
I will be writing more about this later, but one of the items in my PURPOSE section is working on making our master bedroom a haven rather than just another room in the house. In the time since our failed attempt to move overseas (during which we sold practically everything we owned), I have pretty much been in survival mode and decorating has not been a top priority.
I was impressed this week when I read a book by another blogger that I can give my husband a gift by making our bedroom a peaceful, uncluttered space. I will also be doing a little decorating on a budget, so I will share my progress with you as well as more about the book.
As a gift to my readers, you can now print your own customizable Weekly Plan! Click here and “like” The Peaceful Mom on Facebook to access the download link.
Click the link and type in your info for the week. Once you are done, right click the form to print and check off each task as you complete it.

What is your brain dump? I probably missed a blog post….
Sorry Shana, I forgot to include the link. Here it is: https://thepeacefulmom.com/2012/08/20/get-organized-do-a-brain-dump/ 🙂
I love that you divided up your Purpose section by role. I’m still learning to balance all of my roles as stay-at-home wife and blogger AND making sure I take care of myself. I’ve been married almost three years and feel like I should have a handle on this by now. But I keep working at it. I’d also love to know what book you were reading that suggested creating a bedroom haven as a gift for your husband. I’m currently looking for something similar so that I can work on honoring him more. 🙂
For me, it is a constant process to try and balance everything, so don’t feel bad. 🙂 The book is 31 Days to a Heart of Hospitality by Edie of LifeinGraceBlog.com. Here is a link for the book: http://www.lifeingraceblog.com/31-days/.
