Being organized helps you to live your true priorities!
My favorite way to stay organized is to make a weekly plan to ensure that I am focusing on what is truly most important in my life, rather than just staying busy. I have used lots of different planners, but I am currently hand-writing my plan in my art journal each week just because it makes me happy.

I divide my plan into five categories:
PERSONAL- habits that keep me healthy and happy
PEOPLE– activities that promote relationship with the people I love
PURPOSE– tasks that enable me to fulfill my purpose in life
PASSION– activities and experiences which enable me to enjoy life
PROJECTS– priority tasks that need to be finished this week
You can see last week’s plan here. I managed to have date time with my husband (awards dinner for work) and each of my children. I took a walk with the teen girls and stopped by Starbucks for some hot cocoa. I took a walk in a local park with my 12 year old as well and took her to get a smoothie afterwards. My son wanted driving practice and doughnuts (his favorite food).
I did not exercise every day as planned, however. 🙁
This week I am focusing on enjoying life! My husband and I will be going away for two days this week for some fun without the kids. Thanks to discounts he gets through work, our hotel and meals will be less than $70 total–an awesome investment in our relationship!
As for the rest of the week, I am planning no projects or extra work other than keeping the blog and our home running. It will be good to take a break from the harried pace we have had lately.
As a gift to my readers, you can now print your own customizable Weekly Plan! Click here and “like” The Peaceful Mom on Facebook to access the download link.
Click the link and type in your info for the week. Once you are done, right click the form to print and check off each task as you complete it.

This week I plan to start “homeschooling” my almost 2 year old son. I have spent the weekend scouring your and others websites for ideas.
Hi Kim! MotherhoodonaDime.com has some great preschool ideas and I think she even has a free curriculum available. You’re going to have a blast. 🙂
How do you not forget to do this every week or get side tracked? I’ve printed it each week for the past month and by the time I get to WEdnesday, I’ve fallen off the wagon!
I keep it in plain sight and check it every morning. It’s hard to get in the habit, but once you make checking your calendar or to do list part of your morning routine (ex: once you have your coffee or right before breakfast, etc.), it becomes much easier.
