Being organized helps you to save money and live your true priorities!
My favorite way to stay organized is to make a weekly plan to ensure that I am focusing on what is truly most important in my life, rather than just staying busy.
I have used lots of different planners, but I am currently hand-writing my plan each week just because it makes me happy.
I divide my plan into five categories:
PERSONAL-habits that keep me healthy and happy
PEOPLE-activities that promote relationship with the people I love
PURPOSE-tasks that enable me to fulfill my purpose in life
PASSION-activities and experiences which enable me to enjoy life
PROJECTS-priority tasks that need to be finished this week
You can see last week’s plan here. Several family members were sick including me, so I didn’t accomplish everything I had planned. I did take my daughter on a date to get ice cream (free with coupon!), finished my ebook Affordable Gluten Free, had my son’s senior photos made and gave a $20 gift card to a family we don’t know, so I am happy with that.
This week I am focusing on organization again. I find that I am much more peaceful and productive when my home and my desk are organized, so I am working this week to make that happen. I am still praying and planning about the upcoming year as part of my organizing, and continuing with my morning “brain dump“ (read more here) and daily exercise.
One other thing that I will be working on this week (and probably forever) is openly communicating my respect and adoration for my husband. It is so easy for me to criticize, complain or simply focus on what’s going on in life, rather than really respecting and appreciating my husband.
As a gift to my readers, you can now print your own customizable Weekly Plan! Click here and “like” The Peaceful Mom on Facebook to access the download link.
Click the link and type in your info for the week. Once you are done, right click the form to print and check off each task as you complete it.

I love your planner!
I currently use a daytimer; but I want to switch and do my own with your help. I have been looking for a month to find something I like and yours I LOVE.
Do you make your own notebook? If you do where do you get the binder?
Thank you!!
I have two planners. Here is a video about the one I have for longer term items: https://thepeacefulmom.com/2011/09/05/new-vlog-my-planner-a-k-a-brain-in-a-binder/
Then I make my weekly plan in a spiral bound sketch book. The one I have is no longer available, but here is one on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0025TV4NQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thepeamom-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0025TV4NQ
Thanks Kimberlee!
Am I correct in thinking that I won’t be able to use your weekly plan printed out? I would have to draw my own each week if I purchase the sketch book?
Sorry, I wasn’t understanding what you wanted. You can have the printable page copied and spiral bound at an office supply store, but if you want to type on it and print it I am not sure where to get a binder. An office supply store might have smaller binders that you could use or you might find a photo album that has 3 rings.
I love your handwritten plan. I like to physically write my to do lists instead of doing them on the computer but I usually just use notebook paper. I like how pretty yours is. 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration. I’m feeling a little disorganized and without purpose right now so I think this could be the key!
Thanks Shelley!
