I find it quite humorous that after my post here about necessity food and entertainment food, two of our favorite “junk” foods were on sale this week: Lay’s potato chips and Edy’s Fruit Bars.
I was able to pay for them out of the regular food budget because we have a lot of food in the freezer. We will be eating the chips with the burgers we are having this week and the fruit bars will be eaten as snacks. Now you know that I’m human. 🙂
SAVE A LOT–Spent $53.13.
Highlights:
$.88/lb bone in chicken breasts
4 lb bags California Navel Oranges $3.49 each
green peppers $.59 each
WALMART–Spent $16.26.
I normally would not go to Walmart for so few items, but Save A Lot was out of butter and their chicken costs more than Walmart in my area.
Weekly Total: $ 97.30
March Monthly Total: $198.32
($100/week budget for six people)
