Take TenTM-Improve your life ten minutes at a time!
“The key to success whether you are trying to lose weight, break a bad habit or save money on your grocery bill is to consistently apply small changes over time.”
p. 27 Save More, Clip Less
One way I incorporate this principle of small changes over time is to choose a weekly project to work on ten minutes a day. Knowing it’s only ten minutes helps me to get started–even if the project seems overwhelming at first. Working on the goal daily helps me to develop discipline (hate the word, love the effects!).
This week I’ll be spending ten minutes a day preparing for my trip to the Blissdom Conference! I’ll be sharing more as the week progresses, but my ten minute a day projects include:
*planning the menu for dad and the kids while I’m away
*finishing my packing list
*starting to pack
Would you like to join me in a ten minute a day project this week?
Choose an area you want to change or a project you have procrastinated on starting. When you decide what your Take TenTM project will be, you can leave a comment on this post to let us know what you’re planning–the more the merrier!

It’s not as hard as I thought it would be. In another month, our second born will start Kindergarten. That will help him a lot! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! I remind myself of this when it gets tough. Every morning, I give the day over to the Lord and He carries us through. I will post a photo of the quilt once it is finished.
He is always faithful. I would love for you to add your quilt to the Show & Tell Saturday post. Do you have a blog?
Love that idea! I am hoping to do a few different things this spring/summer. I can see how taking 10 each day this week to just sort out my thoughts will be beneficial!
Thanks Michelle! It really helps me get more accomplished. 🙂
I’m working on a project, just 10-15 minutes a day and I should be done in about 10 days….. it’s a king size tee shirt quilt. I’ve made a couple tee shirt quilts for friends, but this one is for me. We have 4 children ages 5, almost 4, almost 2, and 6 months. My husband has been gone a little over a month for what will be a 15 month training/deployment. He left a ton of his comfy tee shirts. When I am done with this quilt, I’ll be able to snuggle up in it at night. I wish I could knock this project out faster, but I do not have the time, as I am sure you can imagine. 10 minutes a day WILL get it done, though! 🙂
Wow Alexi, I can’t imagine being without my husband that long, much less with four children. I am proud of you for taking the time to make that quilt. Way to go!
