I would say my biggest organizing problem is trying to balance work and home with getting everything done. It seems like I’m never anywhere long enough to get everything done. Things just pile up because I don’t have time to stop an organize it right then. So much to do, so little time.

I have hard time organizing my house especially my two young boys bedroom and their toys.
I guess you could say organizing stuff around the house has not been important to me as it should be. I spend more time dealing with my two boys who 2 1/2 and 3 /1/2 (11 months apart).
I have following you on a Facebook for a month now and have gotten some good information from yoy that I should start using in my crazy life.

I just signed up for your newsletter and will be looking forward to reading them. I just started following your blog a couple of weeks ago and love it. I am a mom of 3, which I also homeschool and clean homes for some families to bring in extra income. I also am a Sunday school and wed. Night club teacher. With church activities and extra curricular activities (even though I try…to keep these at a minimum) time management sure is a problem. I’m enjoying your time management tips. Bills and paperwork are huge as well..having the time to do them just isn’t there. I’m looking forward to trying your 10min a day technique. If I think I only have a few minutes (while dinner is cooking or getting ready to leave for an appt) I would never start on a task. Thank you for all your doing to help families.
If chosen for the gift card..that would be great..my daughter’s 18th birthday is February 1st and I would like to give it to her. Cherish your time with your kids..it truly does go quick.
    Thank you,
    Connie

My biggest organizational problem is in the kitchen. The counter end has stuff from all the younger 3 kids projects, spare legos, and general clutter. I would like to organize this plus the rest of the counters and cupboards in the kitchen. We host a bible study on Wed nights for post college adults, (where our older kids are) and I would like it more welcoming and places for everything.

Kids clothes! I’m saving all our kids’ clothes for more kids. They’re all in tubs, but I need to figure out a way to keep them organized better by size and gender. I need to figure out a better space for them as well so that they’re easily accessible but not in the way. With an infant in the house again, I’m constantly having to switch out new sizes!

My trouble spot would have to be our living area. I currently live with my parents and my two kids and my style is not their style and this is their home.
I love to organize and clean but the challenge is to do it with their tastes and styles in mind, which arent really mine.
A big help would be to figure out how to organize the space to both our satisfaction, to maintain it with similar standards, and to do so cheaply.
I hope to win so I can go shopping for this space which really has a hodgepodge of things and isnt organized or well maintained at all, despite my efforts.

My biggest problem is I need to purge and then take/make the time to organize. I know when I am done, I will feel so much better. Last year I did 52 weeks to being organized in about 6 months and during that burst of inspiration I did really well. I need to carve out some time to organize many areas (paperwork and clothing mainly) so I can be more productive in the rest of my life. Thank you for all your inspiration and helpful tips and advice!

My biggest organizational problem is our bedroom. I have a huge wood desk that is always covered with huge piles of papers. There is also a problem that whenever the “visited” parts of our house are cleaned then the extra stuff is moved to our bedroom. Consequently, our bedroom has boxes of stuff and random supplies/parts everywhere! I also have a tendency of washing clothes and become very proud that they are clean but not put them away. So there is usually a stack of clothes baskets somewhere in our bedroom or closet. Help!

My biggest Organizational problem occurs when I don’t take the time regularly to spend working on the tasks around the house. If I spend 10 minutes every day cleaning off my desk it stays clean, however, if I go a whole week before cleaning it the desk is overflowing with paperwork, bills, and other items.

Also coupons wind up here too until I use them. We are HOPELESS in the organizational department. In fact, we just took a “re-con” trip to Lowes to see what kind of shelving MIGHT help us make sense of the laundry area that is also in the kitchen. (Which is also the direct pathway into our living room which is where our recent church plant fellowships on Sunday). Of course, having the knowledge of what would help without the means to do it is always frustrating. 🙂

I don’t even know where to begin. My 2012 New Years resolution is to get organized .In order to have peace I have to declutter my life. I don’t know where to begin. I will start in one area than go to another because I don’t know what to get rid of. After losing my daughter of six children ,I have collected a lot of keepsake items over the years .
With clothes I gain weight than lose it ,or maybe my old clothes will come back in style so I hold onto them. In the end what started to be a small task has ended up a huge project and I am running out of room to hide things. What started off a good idea has only given me and everyone else in the house a headache. I need some serious help. In fact a good friend who has tried to help by sending me this so needed information!!! HOW DO I GET ORGANIZED???

My problem? Motivation. The biggest area of need is the kitchen. I have too little space and poor kitchen design that I just don’t know how to approach in this tiny apartment. The motivation issue is that we’re house hunting so down-sizing is not something I want to do when I miss using kitchen equipment already that I just have kept packed away rather than try to deal with figuring out how to store the items the best, most useful way.

My problem is toy organization. My girls, 4 and 9, share a room so there is lots and lots of stuff! Although most toys have been “generalized” into big baskets, I would like to sort specific things into smaller containers. Maybe then the youngest could just grab a container of horses and not have to sort through or dump out a big basket.

My biggest organizational issue is my “stuff” pile(s). I have two – one of stuff for various MOPS service projects (Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and related stuff, stuff for bags we give to new moms at our local hospital, shoes we’re collecting, etc.) which is all mixed in with the laundry “stuff” (out-of-season or wrong-sized clothes, etc.); and then there’s my kitchen “stuff” pile – papers, bits and pieces of things that need fixing, batteries that need testing, and random other stuff that doesn’t have a home. The service project, etc. pile(s) could use some shelving. I think the kitchen pile just needs my time and attention!

Incoming mail is always the struggle at our house. We try to sort it as it comes in, but it always falls behind somehow. Plus, even if we sort it right away, the other spouse may or may not look at their pile right away, and we haven’t found a good way to prioritize the mail without getting a system overly complicated.

my biggest issue is paper and paper clutter – random articles that I would like to keep but have no home, projects the little ones bring home from school and create at home, information from various organizations I belong to, etc. If I could tame the paper, our home and our home office would be so much neater!

Our biggest issue is/(about to be)was our DVD collection. We had a video tower that was big and taking up too much room in our living space. I found DVD sleeves that allowed us to keep the cover art and store the DVD’s in a much smaller space. I went to Walmart and picked up some black storage boxes in their office section and the DVD sleeves fit perfectly in them on the side. Now I need to transfer everything to the sleeves and then reorganize the entertainment center to accomidate the boxes. I’m looking to streamline our lives this year.

I have learned so much the following year and try to apply a little here and there to organize my family and save money.

As far as clutter, I have always had a rule that if I buy a piece of clothing I have to donate or give away to a friend a piece of clothing. This keeps down hoarding clothes and makes me wear what I have and help others if I do buy something. I wish I had the same discipline when it comes to handbags. They are my weakness. I have a hard time parting with them.

My biggest organizational problem has been trying to keep an uncluttered house while making a “career” of homeschooling my three children. We do most of our homeschooling in the dining room, but the books and experiments filter over to other rooms in the main living areas. So we are attempting to keep the clutter down and organize around all of the rest of this! 🙂
