Take TenTM-Improve your life ten minutes at a time!
“The key to success whether you are trying to lose weight, break a bad habit or save money on your grocery bill is to consistently apply small changes over time.”
p. 27 Save More, Clip Less
One way I incorporate this principle of small changes over time is to choose a weekly project to work on ten minutes a day. Knowing it’s only ten minutes helps me to get started–even if the project seems overwhelming at first. Working on the goal daily helps me to develop discipline (hate the word, love the effects!).
If you read my post here then you know that I planned to spend ten minutes every morning this past week doing a “brain dump”. I successfully completed my journaling exercise 6 out of 7 mornings and it really helped get my thoughts in order for the day. This combined with Bible reading is a great start to the morning.
I also planned to spend 10 minutes a day decluttering. I did manage to declutter on two days, but the rest of the week the cleaning fell to the bottom of the priority list. I did at least take one box of give away items to Good Will. 🙂
This week I’ll be spending ten minutes a day on Christmas preparation. I’ll be addressing our Christmas cards, planning our baking projects, and, if I have time, searching for some deals on line for a few gifts I still need to purchase.
Would you like to join me in a ten minute a day project this week?
