Fun Friday Shopping Totals: See how I feed my family of six (including 3 teens!) for around $400/month. This week was super busy so I didn’t get my shopping done until today.
The sales were so good and I know that this coming week will be even busier than last week, so I shopped for two weeks. See our $100 Budget Weekly Menu here.

PUBLIX (pictured above)-Spent $81.00 ($148 value).
Highlights:
I was able to use a $5/$55 order Winn Dixie Catalina coupon because Winn Dixie is considered a competitor at my store. 🙂
SAVING TIP: When you find items you normally use at the lowest sale price for your area, buy as much as you can afford in your monthly budget. In the following weeks you can use the money you saved to buy other sale items, keeping your overall budget lower because you are paying the rock bottom price for most items.
Except for the gluten free items pictured above, all items purchased were the lowest sale price for my area so I stocked up!
WINN DIXIE–Spent $43.21 ($84.25 value).
(The cranberry gingerale was on sale and will be saved for Christmas.)
SAVING TIP: When you find meat at the lowest price for your area, buy as much as you can afford. Divide it into meal size portions and freeze for later.
WALMART–Spent $65.12 ($110 value)
Saving Tip: Use Walmart’s price matching policy.
Price Matched Items:
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast $1.37/pound!
Kiwi’s $.20 each
Bananas $.17/lb
10 lbs potatoes $2.99
Sweet Potatoes $.09 each!
(By the way, the wine in the photo is for cooking, not for drinking 🙂 )
Weekly Total: $ 189.93
