Unfortunately we don’t, the closest one is about a 3 hour drive. I love Aldi prices though, my family shopped there alot when I was growing up. 🙂
So does your family only drink one gallon of milk a week???? I WISH we only consumed that little amount. With me and hubby and a 2 year old and 7 month old we go through 2 whole gallons (1% and 2%)!! I’m really trying to cut back on the milk consumption though because we probably (more like, definitely) drink too much milk b/c we eat a lot of cereal. Anyway, I was just amazed at only seeing one gallon of milk! lol
Yes, we only use one gallon of milk. We really only use it for cereal twice a week and if I make mashed potatoes or some other recipe that calls for it. We get calcium from cheese, yogurt and vegetables that contain it like spinach and we all drink water rather than juice or milk. It’s something that was suggested by our pediatrician when the kids were younger believe it or not.
1.77/lb. That was the lowest we had it.
That makes sense. Yeah, we can get that price on cheese 2-3x year so we freeze it and try not to buy it for more than 1.00 per 8 oz bag. We’re also huge cheese lovers in this house.
I hear you on Thanksgiving extras! I bought a ham and even though it was small it was 16.00 just for a half a ham.
Yikes! That seems high for ham.
Hi Kimberlee! Can you tell me which store you price matched your bananas and yams from? I love your shopping posts by the way. 🙂 Thx for sharing!
Hi Anna! It’s a local hispanic store. Do you have an Aldi in your area? They usually have pretty good produce deals.
Do you do a cash envelope system or how do you keep track of what you’re spending on food? I’ve spent almost all of our food money for the month already, too but last month I bought 80 pkgs of cheese for 80 dollars so that took care of last month’s extra $ (so we had nothing extra to carry over for this month).
Wow–that cheese deal sounds amazing! I do use cash, but I will spend extra if I find an amazing deal like that. I usually do all the shopping on one day so I just keep up with the receipts. I allowed myself a little more this week because of Thanksgiving.
