Take TenTM-Improve your life ten minutes at a time! This week’s ten minute project: Renewing a lost habit.
“The key to success whether you are trying to lose weight, break a bad habit or save money on your grocery bill is to consistently apply small changes over time.”
p. 27 Save More, Clip Less
One way I incorporate this principle of small changes over time is to choose a weekly project to work on ten minutes a day. Knowing it’s only ten minutes helps me to get started even if the project seems overwhelming at first. Working on the goal daily, helps me to develop discipline (I know–it’s an ugly word!) in my life.
This week I’ll be spending ten minutes every night doing my night time routine.
Even though I know the benefits of starting my day the night before (read more here), in the past few weeks I have really neglected this principle in my life. I have been staying up too late which means the next day I sleep later than I should and for the entire day I feel behind on everything.
This week I’m going to stop whatever I am doing at ten minutes before ten (9:50 p.m.) and start getting ready for bed.
Would you like to join me in a ten minute a day project this week?

I’d really like to try this. I need to work on decluttering my bedroom.
I just finished that project last week. It feels so much better!
This is a great idea! I have been struggling with developing discipline, especially in the mornings. I tend to hit snooze way too many times. This week, I will practice getting up 10 minutes earlier and using that time to read my Bible. Thanks for the encouragement =)
Great Lisa! If you want to, check in at the end of the week on my Take Ten Update and let me know how it went. 🙂
I will join you in the getting ready for bed earlier idea. I haven’t been slacking too much on my evening routine, but I’ve been starting it too late. And up too late does a number on my mornings!!
Great Jamie! I could use the moral support. 🙂
