Some food companies are adding wheat where you might not expect it.
As the mom of a gluten intolerant child I have to be vigilant about reading labels, but this week I let my guard down. We bought ice cream at two different stores and found out too late that two brands (Blue Bell and Save A Lot’s store brand) have added wheat flour as an ingredient in some of their flavors.
I’m not sure why flour is being added to ice cream, but it’s just a reminder that we have to be careful to read every label. Don’t assume because an ingredient shouldn’t be there that it isn’t.
