As I reflect on the past few weeks there are so many things I am thankful for.
Friends…
friends who packed our stuff, who prayed for us, who gave financially to us though it was a sacrifice for them.
Family…
my mom who thoughtfully bought us items to make our travels easier and who is allowing my scrapbook collection to over take her guest room;
my mother-in-law who now has several closets filled with items our kids did not want to part with;
my sister who graciously hosted our family for Christmas without requiring much of me;
my other sister who generously supported us in our new venture;
my brother-in-law and his wife who hosted us for the weekend, gave generously to us and encouraged their church to sponsor us.
Quarters…
a bag of quarters leftover from our October yard sale frenzy which came in very handy for the laundry we had to do in the hotel and the tolls we had to pay coming into the city.
Flashlights…
My mom thoughtfully purchased key chain LED flashlights for our trip. We have already used them multiple times to find things in a dark room when others are sleeping.
Extra bathrooms…
Our hotel room over the weekend was just down the hall from the lobby bathrooms. This was a huge blessing when three family members had to use the facilities at the same time.
Running…
God prepared me in so many ways for this transition, one of which was developing the discipline of running. Running is such great stress relief and is something I can do anywhere.
Grace…
We have enjoyed so much of God’s grace from uneventful travels to having the luxury of internet service in our dorm. My favorite expression of God’s grace though is the way the children are adjusting. They already found two friends who are very much like them and they are handling all the change remarkably well.
I can’t wait to see how God continues to work!
