Some friends were appalled when I told them yesterday that we will not be having a Christmas tree this year. Under normal circumstances I don’t get the decorations put away until February and having to move by December 31st just complicates everything.
I’m all about maintaining my sanity and remaining The Peaceful Mom, so I decided in August that we would be treeless. I also informed the family early so there would be no complaints.
We DO have a wreath hanging over the fire place. That counts for something, right?

Kimberlee- I think you are a very wise lady to know your limitations. There have been “treeless Christmases” for many of us due to various life circumstances. From what I read on your posts, Kimberlee, you are doing
a wonderful job of keeping the Christmas spirit alive through other family
traditions. I personally marvel that you are able to homeschool, run your
household, and keep your website current (THANK YOU by the way) all
while having a major move pending. Your posts have made me pause
several times and rethink the way I manage my home and family. Praying for His peace and presence in your home at Christmas and always.
Thanks so much Kim–your comment is such an encouragement to me! We’ll see if I can keep everything going as we get closer to the move. Sleep has become a lot more important to me! 🙂
