Want to go out with your husband, but it’s not in the budget? Check out this ideas for cheap dates.
Eat Dinner at Home- We often eat our main meal at home and then go out to split a dessert. We recently found a new coffee shop with great atmosphere where we can enjoy some quiet conversation.
Buy an Entertainment Coupon Book– You can find these books on-line and at various retailers. Wait until the middle of the year and purchase the book at a substantial discount. The best deals tend to be BOGO restaurant deals and discounted movie tickets. Go here to check the coupons available for your area.
Take Advantage of Birthday Deals– Check local restaurants to see if they offer a free birthday meal. After paying for the non-birthday meal, we essentially go out for half-price.
Trade Babysitting– Find another couple with similar values who would like to trade babysitting. If you have small children, it sometimes works better to trade with a family with older children. The older children can help with the smaller ones and the parents aren’t overwhelmed by having 5 toddlers in their home at once.
Venture into the Great Outdoors– Have a picnic in the park, or take a hike or bike ride together. Get ice cream afterwards.
Find Free Resources– There are many museums which offer a free day once a month. Free local tours can be found in your newspaper or you can make your own tour of a downtown area.
What you do on the date isn’t as important as going out together and remembering why you married each other in the first place. 🙂
