PUBLIX--Spent $21.63.

Cheese and crackers, anyone?

SAVE A LOT–Spent $40.74.

WALMART–Spent $37.35.

Weekly Total: $99.72

August Monthly Total: $587.72

$125/week budget for six people–There were five Fridays this month, so I am on-track for the month. I think it is really humorous that after raising the budget to $125, I was able to spend less than our old budget amount of $100 this week. :)

That’s great. I know right there is something about knowing You had more but wanting to spend less. Ive down the same thing lately to, budgeted them under spent. High five I say, thats the way to do it. Question what are the healthy deals at Walmart, further drive for me?

In my area the best deals at Walmart are some seasonal produce, the Hormel Naturals lunch meat and some staples like natural peanut butter. I check the prices each week because some sale prices will beat the Walmart price. You can always use your ads to do a price match. Here is the policy: http://corporate.walmart.com/ad-match-guarantee

I would just like to say Thank you Kimberlee. I am currently a college student and I found your website via pinterest about 2 months ago. It has made such a big difference in my life. I finally made a budget, and am spending WAY less on groceries now and saving money. I want to let you know what an inspiration you are in the way you live life by following God and living within your means the way God meant us all too.
Thank you! Elizabeth

just found your blog/fb page today and I am wondering if you will take that $25 for the week that you budgeted for groceries and didn’t spend and put it on next week’s grocery budget, or do you move it to another area (savings or whatever)?

Normally, the money would just stay in the envelope for grocery money in my wallet until the next week. I didn’t take the cash out of the atm this week (just used my debit card), and because we had “extra” money in the account, we went out to eat. I enjoyed it, but I will be taking the money out in cash from here on out. :)

I’m really just now starting to pull in the reigns on our spending. We just moved and our rent went up considerably to allow for us to be more productive while working from home. I am a full-time web developer and freelance in the evenings and weekends. My partner is a student and freelance fashion designer. I just cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your blog and all of the awesome tips you have given us to SAVE, SAVE, SAVE! I have never done a budget before, never created a meal planner before and never couponed nor freezer cooked before. I feel like I am in frugal and organizing overdrive. Seriously, your blog is going to change my life! Thank you for all that you do. Since we just moved we had more expenditures than I would in a normal week, so this week I spent about $200 on groceries, but again, this was starting from scratch. The only thing I had in the kitchen was some flour, a box of cereal, bottled water (which I am no longer buying) and some cans of ravioli. For $200 I was able to buy everything on your weekly menu planner. Since its just the 2 of us we have cut back on portion sizes in your recipes, but I have a nice stock pile in our freezer now :-) Thanks again!
