For a stress free christmas – when my chikdren were kids and being a single working mom we were always the last to get the tree up . If it wasn’t my work schedule , the weather or the cost it always was the last minute !
So , I hung a long piece of butcher paper, tacked it on a wall , drew a christmas tree with colored marker pens , wrote ” this is our christmas ( I put the year )tree, please help us decorate it – write a message to santa , draw a present , make an ornament .
I put the pens in a basket on the floor and everyone who came in
the house could not resist decorating our tree!
you can roll it up after christmas and easily save it , to look back on or rehang long after the kids are grown !

LOVE that idea Michelle! One year we did a butcher paper ocean mural for my son’s birthday so all the kids attending could draw their own ocean creatures. The Christmas idea is even better. :)
