My Weekly Plan for Saving on Groceries

by Kimberlee

Saving the maximum amount on my groceries each week requires a little work, but it is so worth it!I divide the work up over the week as follows:

Monday

Check websites for the best deals at local stores.
Make a quick list of items I want to get from each store.
Place an asterisk by items that I want to stock up on.

Tuesday

Take inventory of pantry, freezer, fridge.
Begin making my menu based on inventory and sales.
Note any missing ingredients.

Wednesday

Clip and print coupons that match sales.
Place coupons in corresponding store envelope.

Thursday
Check Publix website for new sales. (Ads change on Thursday in our area.)
Make final shopping list and menu.

Friday

Shop

Saturday

Bulk cooking for the freezer
Check out drugstore sales for next week.

You can follow a plan like mine or do everything the night before you shop.  The important thing is to find what works best for you and stick to it.
